"Teutonic Wine Company was founded by Barnaby and Olga Tuttle in 2005.  I visited them on a visit to Portland, Oregon last year with T. Edward, and they showed us such a great time. The pair are kind of like Crocodile Dundee meets Jerry Garcia mashed into a married couple. Barnaby and Olga stared Teutonic with no formal grape growing or winemaking experience, and without any financial backing. Now, with more than 15 years experience under their belts, these two are making quality-driven wines full of finesse from exclusively cool-climate growing sites. The Bergspitze is super light and spicy with notes of black cherry candy and dried strawberries, with subtle hints of smoke and cocoa. I was introduced to this wine alongside a mushroom risotto and it was killer, and this style of Pinot Noir is excellent with birds, fish, and lean, rare beef. Consider popping it in the cooler for a half hour before enjoying!"
