Unfiltered Wine Club November 2025, vintage 2024:

"Onwards to Piedmont! Jo-Lino Rosso is a fresh, vibrant expression of Grignolino from Poderi Cellario, a 3rd generation family estate in Carrù on the western edge of the Langhe in the northwest corner of Italy. Fausto and Cinzia Cellario farm organically across 30 hectares of south-facing vineyards, working exclusively with indigenous Piemontese grapes and keeping cellar practices firmly traditional. Jo-Lino is medium-bodied, dry, and full of bruised strawberry, red cherry, cranberry, dried herbs, and citrus pith, with savory undertones and firm, structured tannins that keep everything in place. The balanced acidity gives the whole wine a lifted, juicy, Fruit Punch vibe, making it one of the most easygoing reds on a crowded dinner table. For Thanksgiving, this is an absolute all-star with the dark meat side of the bird, also roasted ham, buttery mashed potatoes, salads with dried cherries, or rosemary focaccia. It’ll also shine with mushroom-heavy sides where the light, crunchy tannins help reset the palate. Serve it with a light chill to highlight the fruity-bright edges and mouthwatering acidity. When I first tasted this, I remember thinking, “I want to dunk turkey right in this.” I likely wouldn’t do that - but the fantasy was real. Enjoy!"
