100% Criolla from Mendoza, Argentina; fermented and aged in stainless steel and concrete, no oak; clear light cherry red color, light bodied, fruity, and deep, with bright fresh red cherry and subdued bark upfront, mushroomy earth, toasty and round on the nose, but a very light palate, loves air and doesn’t get tinny after sitting in a glass for a half hour. Organic, Sustainable, Vegan This wine is awesome with any smoked lighter meats and hearty fish dishes, with salads and pasta, and anything with mushrooms! I like to drink it chilled.
From the producer: Montlaiz is a family winery founded in 1904 in Mendoza, Argentina. We craft our wines with organic grapes that we grow at the foothill of the imposing Andes mountains. We have a strong social commitment, helping farmers and associated employees to obtain better working conditions through Fair Trade certification systems. Another of our fundamental cornerstones is caring for the environment. We measure and mitigate our CO2 footprint, replacing our matrix of energy consumption by photovoltaic generation systems that allow us to process 100% of our raw material using solar energy. We make our wines in a more efficient and sustainable way, taking care of our resources and protecting the environment.
We have 74 hectares in production in different districts like Maipú, San Martín and Junín. In addition, we have formed an association of organic producers that we accompany in the organic and Fair Trade certification processes, assisting them
technically and economically to achieve a strong social bond with them. This allows us to increase our production volume, adding other prominent regions to our portfolio with grapes from the first zone and from the Uco Valley.
