"It’s not often that I feature Riesling in the Wine Club, but this one makes two in just a few     summer months. I’m excited for you to try an Italian expression so soon after the Beurer Trocken from June’s Vom Boden selections. Located in Abruzzo, the Jasci and Marchesini family has been farming organically since 1960, a solid 20 years before the concept became a trend. Their philosophy is that the true test of organics comes in difficult vintages, when the challenge is to still bring home something worthwhile from the harvest. I found this Riesling to be slightly more lifted and less textural than the German Beurer. It even had a slight spritz that I found to be thirst-quenching and refreshing. Medium in body, the wine was fermented to complete dryness and has notes of green apple, pear, and white flowers, with a silky, luxurious mouthfeel. It is truly delightful. If you’re cooking white fish, fried chicken, smoked pork or chicken, or enjoying some young cheese, please reach for this wine! I suggest drinking it nice and cold."
