Merlot with other undisclosed Bordeaux varieties (possibly Cabernet Sauvignon) from Médoc, Bordeaux, France; medium to medium plus bodied and dry, earthy and rustic with layers of blackberry and bramble, underbrush, soy, licorice root, and saline, with balanced acid, and velvety but firm tannins. Organic and Sustainable.
This is an extremely limited wine with only 900 bottles of this vintage produced. It comes from pre-Phylloxera vines planted in 1850, making them about 170 years old. The wine is aged in 50% new barrels and 50% 1 year old barrels. It will drink best from 2026 to 2042 but can be enjoyed immensely now with a decant.
