50% Sangiovese and 50% Montepulciano from Rosso Piceno, Marche, Italy; this wine has an intersting contrast of aromas between the nose and the palate; on the nose it has notes of fried dough, whipped chocolate cream, and preserved fruit - so basically jelly doughnut being eaten on a farm, but the palate is medium plus in body, dry, and much earthier with notes of leather, dried leaves, balsamic, and pepper, with subdued black fruit, medium plus cleansing acidity that perfectly balances out the dry, firm, slightly powdery tannins on the finish. Organic
