Made in Brooklyn, New York, from 100% domestic grown Yamada Nishiki rice that was milled down to 60%, this cloudy sake is a -8 on the Sake Meter Value (see below). It is medium bodied and lightly sweet with notes of coconut water, fresh laundry, ripe pineapple, citrus pith, vanilla taffy, minty herbs, and dried banana, with a silky texture and balanced acidity.

The Sake Meter Value (SMV) measures the sugar content and gives insight into how sweet or dry a sake will taste. A low numerical value indicates more sugar in the sake, therefore SMV below zero suggests a sweeter taste. On the other hand, SMV at zero is neutral, and above zero tends to be drier in taste.

This cloudy nigori style sake is named for the 'Lake Effect' weather pattern where cold air over warmer lakes produces dense and heavy snow, evocative of this beautiful cloudy sake.
