Tinaktorogos from Ilia, Peloponnese, Greece; light plus bodied and dry with notes of yellow flowers, melon, and lemon citrus, hints of dried herbs and musk, with a round creamy mouthfeel, medium acidity, and a rich soft finish. Organic
This single-vineyard 100% Tinaktorogos is an extremely rare variety indigenous to Ancient Olympia. The variety has been uniquely cultivated by the Brintzikis for the last 23 years and is old enough to have been referenced by Homer. It produces a transparent, white wine with hints of green reflections in the glass. The wine has a medium, balanced acidity, and a rich, delicate finish. Notes of warm citrus, lemon flowers, melon, and pip fruit giving way to underlying dried herbs and dried flowers. Fermentation with native yeast at 18°C in stainless steel tanks for almost 10 days. Maturation over lees for two months.
