Skin Contact Grenache Blanc from Wellington, Western Cape, South Africa; 20 days on skins; medium bodied and dry with subtle oxidative/nutty notes, layers of red apple skin, dried apricot, yellow flowers, saline, wet stone, honey, and candied ginger, with herbal undertones, medium plus acidity, and dry firm tannins. This wine is grown from bush vines in decomposed granite soils in a converting organic single-vineyard plot. Natural fermentation lasted for 20 days, at which point the grapes were basket pressed. Twenty percent of the wine was placed in new Russian oak. 6 months on lees. Twenty percent of the wine was placed in new Russian oak for 8 months.
