Bordiga Vermouth Rosso is a delicious medium-sweet red vermouth from the Piedmont region of Italy that's made from Nebbiolo, Cortese, Trebbiano, and Moscato grapes, along with hand-picked botanicals from the Occitan Alps. The flavor is bright and savory with some hints of red berries, cranberry, baking spices, gentian, dried herbs, vanilla, orange peel, and earth. It's fantastic in cocktails and spritzes, but shines on its own with an orange peel.
The Bordiga distillery was founded in 1888 by Pietro Bordiga, a passionate bartender and herbalist, who was living in the northern Italian city of Torino (Turin) at the foot of the Alps. Torino was, and still is home to a thriving cafe and theater culture and is also the birthplace of Vermouth di Torino.
