Bodegas Gratias seeks out and preserves plantings of indigenous grapes that are almost extinct, along with other more prevalent varieties from old, dry-farmed bush-vine vineyards. The family owns about half of the vineyards themselves; the other half belong to local growers with whom the family works side by side year round. This a very hot, dry region with many rare indigenous grapes. The "Y Tú" line is a "crowdsourced" wine; the family raised funds from thier friends and neightbors to buy grapes from untended local vineyears that were in danger of being ripped up or simply dying off: Tardana, Macabeo, Marisancho, Doña Blanca, Albillo, Blanquilla, and many more. Each variety is fermented separately in a manner suited to its potential, and various vessels are employed; jars, amphora, barrels, and steel tanks. "Y Tú de Quién Éres"is a local saying that roughly amounts to "And Whose are You?"
