"Moving into northern Italy, our next wine is a Rosato made from the Barbera grape, the Queen of Piedmont (the king being Nebbiolo). I mildly freaked out when I tried this wine, and you’ll soon find it by the glass at SILVIA here in Woodstock. There was only a tiny amount of this wine, and I couldn’t be happier to share it with you all first. Andrea is a 4th generation winemaker who obsesses over details and does the whole winemaking shebang by herself, which is an intense amount of work! This wine is so special; it’s medium bodied and tastes like white chocolate and blueberries, and is layered with notes of mint, herbs, raw honey, marzipan, pralines, lemon, beeswax...it goes on and on. The acid is just enough to lend a refreshing nature to the wine, and makes food-pairing possibilities endless. Fish, veggies, lighter pasta, chicken, but the most important pairing is Springtime!"
