Division Winemaking Company is a Portland-based project founded by Kate Norris and Tom Monroe. The pair draw their influence from their time working harvests in the Loire Valley and Beaujolais, and when they returned to the Pacific Northwest they had one simple mission: make delicious, accessible wines that express the unique terroir of the region without unnecessary intervention. The fruit for the Ouest White is sourced from organic, biodynamic, and sustainable vineyards, and harvested in the cool morning hours to retain freshness and acidity. The wine fermented naturally in a combination of stainless steel and neutral oak, then aged on its lees to build texture and complexity. Medium-bodied and dry, this wine is a nostalgic flavor rollercoaster, offering notes of pineapple, lemon taffy, pear sorbet, peach ring candy, and even a touch of Big League Chew. Beneath the playful fruit are hints of salt and buttercream that add depth, and the juicy acidity gives the wine a bright, crisp energy.
