This month I decided to feature something a little more robust than last month’s Coraline Rosato. Arnot-Roberts Rosé is brought to us by Polaner Selections and is made in Sonoma County from organically-farmed fruit that has been sourced from all over California. Founders Duncan Arnot Meyers and Nathan Lee Roberts work primarily with uncommon varietals and  cooler vineyard sites. Their focus is to produce wines of precision, balance, and transparency, and their 2025 Rosé is exactly that. Made mostly from Touriga Nacional with some Tinta Cão, Trincadeira, and Grenache, the wine is fermented and raised in inert vessels like stainless steel and large used barrels. The nose is clean and neutral, but the palate is bright, fresh, aromatic, and juicy. Light in body, it kicks notes of red and pink flowers, Rainier cherry, wild strawberry, white cranberry, citrus pith, and lemon taffy, with prominent wet limestone minerality, cleansing medium plus acidity, and a dry, chalky finish. This wine would love a cheese plate with assorted young cow’s milk cheeses, green olives, and salty Marcona almonds. I also recommend pairing it with grilled salmon over Caesar salad, fresh beets with feta cheese, beef tartare, and pasta primavera.
